For anyone who is interested, i've started a wiki page with some information about fixing broken cricut machines. I did have to increase. I cut the mat to the same width as the cricut mat and then masked all 4 sides before spraying with krylon repositionable spray. After many questions and trying anything suggested on the board, i finally got my cricut to sort of work. I did actually get it to work on cricut by creating a negative (black background and white image) using my matlab script i wrote. So it seems to be working now, but too many. The only button that i can click on is the activate.
